This year (2026), our brand ambassador (Palo Mokoailane) of more than ten years celebrates his 50th birthday, marking over a decade as an official ambassador for Basotho Heritage Blankets as well as the Aranda brand. In honour of this milestone, we have created and manufactured a special blanket he named Thebe ea Nanabolela.

The name of the blanket is inspired by the Basotho folk tale Thebe ea Nanabolela, meaning “Dinosaur’s Shield.” The story tells of twin brothers, Masilo and Masilonyane, who went to initiation school. Upon completion, Masilo refused to return home unless he was given Thebe ea Nanabolela. The story reflects the values of bravery, sacrifice, responsibility, and the protection of family and community.

The design tells a story of strength, protection, leadership, and cultural identity. This blanket departs from the traditional black binding and instead features distinctive coloured binding to complement each design variant. Colour 02 is finished with a dark brown binding, while Colour 04 features a striking red binding. The blanket is further enhanced with a woven label depicting Palo in his celebrated role as King Moshoeshoe I in the television series Shaka iLembe.

Shipping Policy

Delivery is FREE in South Africa for all orders of R2000 or more. Orders less than R2000 will have a standard delivery fee based on their location in South Africa.

Dispatch & Delivery Times

Orders received Monday to Friday before 12pm will be processed same day. Orders received Monday to Friday after 12pm will be processed for dispatch the following day (on the following Monday if it is received after 12pm on a Friday). If you reside in Gauteng or any major city (Durban, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit etc), your order should be delivered between 3-5 working days. If you live in a major city in the Eastern or Western Cape, your order should be delivered between 4-7 working days. If you live in an outlying area, your order can take between 5-10 working days to be delivered.

  • Please Note: Aranda Textile Mills will not be held responsible for the delay of your order, if for reasons outside of our control.

    • Refunds & Returns Policy

    Prior authorisation from Aranda must be obtained before returning any goods - no unauthorised returns will be accepted under any circumstances. Only flawed products will be authorised for refunds.

    Shipping charges and special orders, are non-refundable. Items accepted must be returned in original packaging and undamaged. All postage and handling on return orders shall be at the expense of the customer. A 20% restocking and administration fee will be applied to authorised returns. No refunds or exchanges will be given after 5 days of receipt of goods.

    You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of your purchase being returned to Aranda, however, in many cases you should receive your refund before the four week time period. This time period includes the transit time for Aranda to receive your return (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes Aranda to process your return once received (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

    When you make a purchase with Aranda Textile Mills, legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by Aranda, are limited by the Aranda Terms & Conditions.
