Description
xThis intricate throw has been inspired by the traditional craft of Zulu basket weaving. The art of Zulu basket weaving has been handed down from generation to generation.
Woven from the dyed leaves of the ilala palm, the decorative woven baskets are made for special occasions, such as weddings, the birth of a child, or a good harvest. Each basket is woven by hand and it can take up to one month to produce a medium size basket. The geometric designs also carry deep symbolism; for instance, if the triangle’s tip is pointing up it means that the woman is unmarried. Married women place two triangles together in a form of a diamond, representing fertility. Every basket is a unique piece of art.
The art of Zulu beadwork has been handed down from generation to generation through the elder women of the family. The beadwork is used as a form of communication between the sexes. The predominant shape is the triangle which is used to communicate whether the wearer is single or married. Colour also plays an important role, such as white for spiritual love and purity, and green for contentment. A maximum of seven colours are used and they have both positive and negative connotations.

Delivery is FREE in South Africa for all orders of R850 or more. Orders less than R850 will have a standard R150 delivery fee anywhere in South Africa. Dispatch Time Orders received Monday to Friday before 12pm will be processed the same day. Order received from after 12pm on Friday to Sunday will be processed for dispatch on the following Monday. Delivery Time If you live in Gauteng or a major city such as Durban, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit etc, your order should be delivered between 2-4 working days If you live in a major city in the Eastern or Western Cape, your order should be delivered between 3-5 working days If you live in an outlying area, your order can take from 4-6 working days or a week to be delivered. Please note: There are no deliveries on weekends and public holidays. Refund Policy
Refunds and Returns Prior authorization must be obtained before returning any goods. No unauthorized returns will be accepted. Only flawed products will be authorized for refunds. Shipping charges and special orders, are non-refundable. Items accepted must be returned in original packaging and undamaged. All postage and handling on return orders shall be at the expense of the customer. A 20% restocking and administration fee will be applied to authorized returns. No refunds or exchanges will be given after 5 days of receipt of goods.
