Description
xThis beautifully crafted throw is inspired by the elaborate and complex designs of the traditional Kuba cloth, unique to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Perpetuating the rich cultural traditions, the men grow the raa palms, and then weave the leaves into the base fabric. The women then embroider surface decorations onto the fabric transforming it into various forms of textiles, such as ceremonial skirts, tribute cloths, head-dresses and basketry. At a point in Kuba history, aristocratic titles, up to and including that of the king of the Kuba Empire, ceased to be hereditary and were awarded based on merit. Fierce competition for these positions was one of the major forces behind the evolution of Kuba weaving arts. Today, the cloth that they produce has become a popular international design trend.

Delivery is FREE in South Africa for all orders of R850 or more. Orders less than R850 will have a standard R150 delivery fee anywhere in South Africa. Dispatch Time Orders received Monday to Friday before 12pm will be processed the same day. Order received from after 12pm on Friday to Sunday will be processed for dispatch on the following Monday. Delivery Time If you live in Gauteng or a major city such as Durban, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit etc, your order should be delivered between 2-4 working days If you live in a major city in the Eastern or Western Cape, your order should be delivered between 3-5 working days If you live in an outlying area, your order can take from 4-6 working days or a week to be delivered. Please note: There are no deliveries on weekends and public holidays. Please note: Aranda Textile Mills will not be held responsible, if for reasons outside of our control, when a delivery is delayed.
Refund Policy
Refunds and Returns Prior authorization must be obtained before returning any goods. No unauthorized returns will be accepted. Only flawed products will be authorized for refunds. Shipping charges and special orders, are non-refundable. Items accepted must be returned in original packaging and undamaged. All postage and handling on return orders shall be at the expense of the customer. A 20% restocking and administration fee will be applied to authorized returns. No refunds or exchanges will be given after 5 days of receipt of goods.
