This intricate throw has been inspired by the traditional craft of Zulu bead work. The art of Zulu bead work has been handed down from generation to generation. These bead works are used as accessories for most celebrations, such as Umembeso (weddings), Imigidi (cultural celebrations) and other traditional celebrations. Each bead work is done by hand using a string, a needle and beads. There is only one geometric designs used by the Zulu people which us a triangle. Historically Zulu beads were used as a language amongst men and women, in the stating their feelings, relationship status or to send a message on the appropriate behaviour of the opposite sex.
