This is a unique product insofar as it is a combination of a blanket
and a garment. The idea was borne out of the need to modernise the blanket wearing
tradition, the need to introduce a unique new product into the market exclusively
manufactured by Aranda and also to attempt to appeal to a wider market, hence the
round shape and the cross-over between blanket and garment to create a unique hybrid.
For the soccer enthusiasts we have done an all-over soccer ball design. Included
in the assortment are also skins i.e. zebra, giraffe, leopard and snake skin, 2
plain colours (black & ivory) as well as a hound's tooth design in a variety of
colours.
We expect this product to appeal mainly to women, with the soccer design being more
unisex which men would wear to matches to watch their favourite team.

Traditionally, wearing-size blankets are used for warmth and also as a fashion item when visiting Church, wakes or when travelling. The wearing-size blankets are often given as gifts for umemulo (a girl's transition into a woman in Zulu Culture) and amabhaso (a day when gifs are given to a bride in Xhosa culture).
These blankets also make comfortable picnic blankets or can be placed on laps when snuggling up on the couch in front of the television or fireplace.
Wearing-size blankets also make unique corporate gifts and can have a company's logo woven into the blanket or embroidered onto the blanket.

The shawl is lightweight and a manageable size, which has made it very
popular for keeping warm while travelling.
Shawls, when wrapped around
the body, can also be used to protect the wearer’s clothes, especially while at
work.
Travelling rugs are used in a similar manner
to shawls, but due to their weight and size, can double as a bed blanket or can
be laid on the floor to provide a warm spot on which to sleep. This versatile product
has for decades been popular with migrant workers as well as with travellers who
need to stay overnight en-route to their destination.

Tribal blankets have deep cultural significance and history with different
blankets and designs used by various African cultures and nations.
Basotho tribal blankets distinguish
this nation form others because of their rich cultural importance and mutli-purpose
functions. These blanket designs have been developed over many years in conjunction
with the Basotho royal family. Basotho tribal blankets are made of wool, which offers
protection from rain and fire and provides it wearers with warmth in the high altitudes
of the Mountain Kingdom.
Xhosa tribal blankets include the Ingcawe blanket (black stripe), which are worn
by Xhosa boys before undergoing cultural rituals that mark their passage from boys
to men.
After these rituals, the Xhosa initiates wear the Abakwetha blanket (red stripe).
The red stripe on this blanket symbolises blood and recognises the wearer’s successful
transition to manhood.
